As popular as the 204 has become I think you would be hard pressed to find a major gun maker who doesn't chamber for it. Pretty much pick the make you like then check their website to see how many different models it comes in.

I have a Rem. 700 with a heavy barrel, but with the short projectiles, it is hard to seat to the lands . Still trying to get a load that will do sub 1/2 moa with 10 shots.

My brother has a Rem 700 VSSF II (Jewell trigger @ 1#) with the same problem. First group he shot with Hornady 40 V-Max factory loads was 4.5". I did manage to get a 2.5" group but decided to load him some 32 V-Maxes instead. After trying about 50 different loads I finally found one that did about 4125 fps and 5 shots into 1/4". Unfortunately the can of RL 10X was empty so I bought 4 cans to load the remaining 750 rounds only to find that this lot of powder was about 5% slower. Not only did the velocity drop but the group opened up to over 1". I tinkered with the load and found that 3/4" was the best I could do. Brother has a heavy to handle 400 yard coyote gun but the gophers will be laughing at him.
I solved the 204 Ruger problems of free bore, overbore, load development and bullets too long for the magazine by designing and building my own wildcat that I call the 20 EXTREME. I went through 153 targets (780 rounds), each with a different load under, shot from 50 to 300 yards under varying conditions during load development. The aggregate average group size for the 153 targets was 0.68". I have a few 1/3" groups to add to this picture of my best loads.

If it is a 9 twist it would work great up to the Berger 50 VLD BT which should fit similar to the 55 VLD pictured. Would be happy to help you put a rifle together.
