Default Remington 700 VSSF 22-250

Looking at picking up a used Remington 700 VSSF in 22-250 from a friend($850). Any advise ? I've owned several Remingtons in my life, just not a heavy barrel but I'm sure it will shoot! Can't let Cooter an Dogfish clean up on all the yote's

I owned the identical rifle. The triggers are easily adjusted, and the stocks are decent. From the factory, it shot 7/8" five shot groups at 100 yards, but after being accurized by Corlanes,it averaged 5/8" with 50gr V-max bullets.

I have that rifle in .220swift. Love it, very accurate. I just put on a Timney trigger which made it that much better.

I have the same rifle, the only thing I did from new is adjust the trigger. It is the most accurate rifle I have owned.

I had one in a 220 swift. Very accurate but it was heavy, long, and awkward to carry, and I found it very difficult to shoot off hand because it was so nose heavy. I sold it and bought a 700 sps in 22-250 and I don't regret it. The VSSF was great off the bench and for hunting out of a blind or stand but l didn't like it for hunting coyotes.

$850 is a pretty good price.
