my big game kills average 30 and then i thought about gophers. sometimes i like to shoot em out to 40 or 50, but lots die at 10 and 20 as well, so i guess 30 it is.

20 is my favorite, but several have been in the 30 yard range, 33 being the longest distance I have taken a deer.

After 15 years ish I would say 55 - 70 yards Any closer than 45 and I seem to fall apart.

Yup the last 5-6 years I could not make a good shot at under 45 yards for the life of me. 55 -70 Seems to be good . Have yet to loose one in the last 5 years at over 5o yards. I do practise that distance a ton and just feelks good. Not for every one for sure.

all of my kills, 100% of them have been gophers with the bow, and I really like 25 yards.

The best part about bowhunting is seeing how close you can get to an animal and the adrenalin rush. Never shot anything over 38 yards and closest was a 46" bull moose at 4 yards but i'd have to say average is 18 yards. My opinion there are too many variables on shots over 40.

my vote went to 35 yards, my first two kills were less than 20 yards outta my stand, but I've done more spot and stalk and have more kills at 30+ yards (furthest was 54 yards, and under the conditions that day I would take the shot again )
