Default 300 WSM Loads

I have used a 165 Handload & 180 Grain factory loads in the past. Any ideas of new bullets on the market that other guys have had success with?

Got a Tikka T3 Lite SS in 300WSM

It hates Nosler Accubond

It loves Barnes TSX boattails in 180gr. try 65.5 grain of powder. I'm gonna try the 168 grain Barnes TSX this year. Awesome Bullet.

I love the Nosler Accubonds!!! And they shoot well in my 300wsm coyote Lite
That said I love the 165 Barnes TSX and 168 TSX Match the difference bettween the two is neglegable when talking hunting application. The powder for me has been IMR 4350 .5 under max in the barnes. IMR 4831 has been good and Reloader 22 a bit shakey. I will be working up some more loads in the coming weeks.

I'm sold on the Barnes TSX also, but there are lots of good bullets on the market these days. The most popular "new" bullets seem to be the Barnes TSX and the Nosler AccuBonds. The majority of users seem to be happy with either, so try both, see what shoots best in your rifle, and go from there. My T-3 (270 WSM) shot the Barnes bullet more accurately, and since then, I've been sold on their performance on game.

I also have a Tikka T3 SS in 300WSM and did not find a bullet that this rifle didn't like. Any think from 150 to 180 tsx, acub; interb; interl.
I use IMR 4350 ( rifle is equipped with muzzle breake and Limbsaver)

I was using reloader 22, I think i am done, I'm going to go to IMR4350 next time as the accubonds really were spraying with the reloader powder. Have you tried different powders? Are starting point suggestions? Probably gonna run 165 TSX or Accubond type bullet.

I also tried Reloder 19 and was grouping very well.
I molly coat my TSX and load them to the higher end.
In my opinion, accubonds or similar bullets in 300WSM are damaging to much meet, TSX make nice wound hole without to much damage.

Hornady Interbond 165gr on top of 62grs of IMR works good for me coming out of a browning medalion.

Ive reloaded both 150's and 165's in my 300WSM. H or IMR 4350 seemed to be the best performers in my rifle. Both for accuracy and velocity. FWIW 3130fps with 165's and 3250 ish for the 150's. 24" bbl'd Savage Model 11.

So far I have tried a bunch of bullets through my WSM....

150gr Nosler BT's
150 Nosler AB's
165 Nosler PT's
180 Nosler PT's
165 Nosler AB's

So far the most consistent powder behind all those bullets has been H4350...and the most accurate loads have been with the 150 BT's...but the AB's have been shooting REAL GOOD....this year I am going to load up some Hornady interbonds and try them out.....just can't seem to get into the Barnes Bullets...the Noslers have been performing so well in close and out far....I haven't had a reason to change.....the interbonds are very similar in design to the Nosler AB....so if my gun likes them better....I'll put them in the field for a season....

I've just started with load development with my 300WSM. I've only worked with the 165 grains Barnes TSX and have found 66 grains of IMR 4350 is about the best. I will be trying some Noslers and maybe Bergers for future possibilities. The Barnes/4350 are doing about .75/100 yards for 5 shots in the Sako Finnlight.

Default bullets

the 150 hornady interbond worked exceptionaly well, in both accuracy and retained bullet weghton recovered bullets. Mostly in the track kills. imr 4350 was the best powder in a t3 as well as an a-bolt a-bolt was on average about 50fps faster. good luck.

I have had good results with 165gr partitions behind IMR 4350. I have loaded some 165 partitions behind Hogdon Hybrid 100 V but havent had a chance to try it out. Load info sounds pretty good at about 3175 fps.

I haven't started handloading yet, but one bullet I did not see listed is the Barnes MRX it is a cored bullet and the core is a tungsten base and is very dense making for a high B.C. but yet a short bullet and that leaves room for more powder. I use this bullet in factory ammo at the momement but as soon as I can get handloading I will start with it for sure. If you compare a TTSX and MRX side by side the MRX is shorter but has a higher B.C. (.533) and carries it's energy very well at longer ranges just thought it was worth a mention, good luck!!

Ive had good luck with 180 gr hornady interlock and H 414 . Shoots about 3/4 of a inch at 100 out of my Model 70 SS . Does sometimes take out a bit of meat though

Out of all the powders I've tried in my 300WSM, I've found that IMR4350 was the best...followed closely by H4350. I'm using Nosler S/B/T 180's in my S/S A-Bolt 300wsm....66 gr of IMR 4350. I've taken several nice deer, a black bear and a 1400 lb moose with this load over the last 6 years...devastating!!!.This gun has the boss on it and it will shoot sub MOA..as long as I choose to let it When I can't...it's still the guns fault!! I've been thinking about some of the lighter stuff for this gun.....anyone try the 110 grainers yet...or howabout the 130's....be some kinda yote load I bet.

I suspect folks are not reloading the MRX because they are very expensive.
