“Only months after the US launched an investigation into whether Chinese-made cars were being used to spy on its citizens, Michigan-based Ford filed the patent designed to collect voice and data from the vehicle to create targeted advertising within the car.“

Phones are already doing it. We should have some privacy.

I've only had one Ford and it was a 1977. Had no plans to buy another, even if they're giving me another reason not to. lol

Like WTF! Do I need to watch the commercials before making a turn? Or answer the survey before I can park the car?

On my phone with normal texting I was talking to someone about her neighbor who went crazy trying to kill people over ditch hay. Then on Facebook a while later this same guy with brain troubles just happens to come up on Facebook as a possible friend even though I have no connection to him whatsoever and no common friends. What are the odds?

Ford is on a roll, aren't they? Maybe they can come up with a way to combine targeted ads with this wonderful idea.

If the gov't doesn't pass a law to allow privacy violations for themselves, they'll just get corporations to build it in and have some form of plausible deniability for it, not our fault, we didn't do it. And yet, if they're smart, they will outlaw it, as they may well get busted for the conversations, or for the slurping sounds emanating from the back seat, that they have in their cars, somebody will find a way to hack them, pay off drivers, etc., and open Pandora's box on a politician.

Is this the cost of Fords bailout? Spying on everyone…

While I wouldn’t drive a ford if you paid me (one was enough) this is right out of chinas social credit system. If you think different you will be attacked by the government

I will continue to spend way too much money fixing old vehicles and burning dinosaurs. ****ing globalists.

Anything that has wifi for calling can be used to listen in on you. Hell they can guide a robot on mars to pick up dirt so they can tack something small to any vehicle and listen in.

Your fridge ,your air purifier ,your oven ,your phone ,your TV or anything you use your phone or wifi to set up. Then there's satellites that can track many new vehicles .

I could care less if they stick anything anywhere except in my butt, it's only and exit area, nothing enters .

If terrorists use a vehicle that law enforcement can listen into to protect the country ,it's all good . Finding illegal criminals ,trafficking drugs and children all the power on any tool they use .Don't think there not in Canada ,there here and they need to be stopped by the law .I have to laugh when criminals say the law wasn't fair on how they got busted ,really then don't be criminal period.

Privacy went out the window years ago ,be good and treat others decent and life is easy.
