Default Change rod handle help

I don't care for the handle on this rod, I found a slip on cork handle that will fit if I remove the knob on the end, what's the best way to remove it?

X2 Just use a knife or utility blade, should come off easy. Then just clean up around where is was attached and put your new one on.

Yep!! Just cut that S#&T off. Will be easy to "Fillet" of the glass shaft...then smear a good epoxy on there and slip the new handle on! Pretty darn simple! Did a couple with a nice rope wrap kinda deal, just cause...lol

They can be loosed in a pot of hot water, not boiling. Hard to keep them submerged though. It takes a while for the heat to work through the foam or cork as it insulates. Most of them the epoxy will soften and the handle can be slide off. I have run into rods where that won't work though. Hack and slash risks scoring and weakening the blank.

Spot on. That or a heat gun. I would never use a blade unless it was the very last resort, and then only VERY carefully.
