Default Anyone going out this early?

I am heading up to the Valleyview area tomorrow for 4-5 days with the bow.

Getting some pretty good elk on the trail camera off the Crown land fringe - into our property, so I figured I would give it a whirl.
One in particular 6 x 6 bull on camera has caught my attention.

Although the temperatures looks to be pretty mild, I will try some chirping in the early morning and at sunset, and maybe even bugle, you never know.

And for the rest of the day I’ll tinker around with quad maintenance, berry picking and such.

Anyone else try the early season?

TBark

We have been out off and on looking for a moose. Had some close encounters, but couldn’t seal the deal. Between giving the area a break and the hot temps we pick and choose our days, so as to not overpressure and push everything out.

My boys are heading out today.

I am hunting vicariously through them!

I was out last Sunday for opener and had a small 5x5 in range but no shot. I went out again this morning shortly after sun up and there was 2 separate bulls bugling maybe 1/2 mile away. Didn’t see anything but will be back at it again this weekend.

Sounds like the odd bull is bulging, which is good.
We might be in the same area Aermotor,

Default 6x5 Opening Day

My hunting partner arrowed a 6x5 opening evening. Many small bulls all week but not a single call heard. We were North near Manning.
