Crank baits for walleye.
Ok guys, what’s your favourite crank bait colour for walleyes? If you could only ever use just one colour, what would that be? If I had to choose, I’d go with a chartreuse and blue back. That always seems to be my go to. Have a great summer everyone.

Curious what’s working also. Bought a couple cranks a few years ago and never have caught anything on them. Hard to convince myself to buy more yet

Silver Rattling Rap has put great wallies and big pike in the boat constantly!

Depends on the lake. Black and gold is a good combo, but so is purple.

Before the storm blew us off McGregor on Sunday, trolling a Rapala silver shad rap was bringing in the walleye steady.

Red Five of Diamonds Canadian Wiggler.
Take off the treble hooks, put a single 5/0 circle hook on the back eye pointing upward.
The Perch chartreuse wiggler with the hook mod also can be deadly.

Original Storm Hot n' Tot is the best producer for me, but requires a bit of tuning to keep it running straight. Got a metal lip and running it tagging the bottom is often deadly.
Cotton Cordell Wally Diver, never quite as good as the Storm but not so picky on tuning.
For colors I'm usually not super picky. Anything with lots of white is pretty universal, works in clear water as well as dirty water. Black and gold is a close second, a little more natural but generally less effective in stained water.

I second the original hot n tot. Smithwick Rattlin’ Rogue or Perfect 10 can also be quite good.

If you are talking of running plugs off of a bottom bouncer, hard to beat a Cotton Cordell Ripplin Redfin in silver / black back, gold / black back, or perch finish.
Check the package. It should either be the suspending or floating version.
When you slow down in a turn, it will rise off bottom, and that is where alot of the hits happen.

In hindsight I will ad black and gold...they seemed to produce and big at dusk and on dark and stormy days (a butterball fat and round shad rap I think)
