Default Chiropractor in South Calgary

Evening everyone, so i am in need of a new chiropractor here in Calgary. Mine has moved back to BC and now I am need of a new one. I live in Cranston, so i am in deep south Calgary. Does anyone have a good chiropractor that they would recommend in south Calgary, I would be very appreciative.
Thank you!

There’s a good chiropractor at the corner of Elbow and Glenmore - Calgary Spine & Sport. Dr. Murray treats a lot of the visiting NHL’ers and performers.

Dr Driedger in McKenzie Lake is good. Close to your house as well. He’s in the mall next to the Shell gas station.

I found chiropractors to be ineffective. One falls into the trap of needing regular “maintenance” visits. The snapping and cracking and pulling helps for a day and then everything starts hurting again.

What I quickly discovered is the bones are held in place properly by muscles. As the muscles tighten or get bruised or over used or not used they can knot up or attach to bone and other muscles.

Wherein a chiropractor may feel like it helped…for a short while. A combination or massage and exercise helps a lot longer.

Last three chiropractors I saw told me I had one leg longer than another. Pulled on an ankle for 30 seconds and then said it fixed it.

If you have long term problems… serious check out a deep tissue massage specialist. Drink tons of water. Take an Advil. Go every week for 1-2 months then once a month for a year then likely once every 2-3 months and less going forward. Key is maintaining the exercises given once the muscles are fixed.

You haven't been to a good chiropractor.
Massage can also be a useful tool. I agree with drinking lot's of water, along with eating right, stretching, and exercise....and I also agree, keep it up even when you are feeling good
Guessing 95% don't look after themselves properly...and I'm most likely low on that number

Power Health Chinook, Dr. Dennis. Right across the street from Chinook.

He's a great guy and the place is very professional. They do massage therapy and other stuff too.

Maybe… however I’ve been to three recommended ones and I went in with an open mind. It felt like lots of make believe talk and surprising how many used the lines

You have one leg longer than the other… or
The problem is your hips are not aligned… or
Your vertebrae are twisted… or
You have a pinched nerve.

What I got out of a leg pull, sudden downward pressure on a hip, a neck pull or arm pull… was a charge of $100 on my credit card and a statement that my condition was worse than first thought. Likely it would take multiple treatments. I should rebook for three days from now.

I would be willing to try a chiropractor again… keeping an open mind… however I wouldn’t waste a dime on the visit and I would be more skeptical than open minded now and understandably so.

A friend once told me a chiropractor helped fix her. I asked what he did. She said bone manipulation. I said great. So how many treatments till you were fixed. It was like 10 but needs monthly “maintenance” appointments.

In the end…if you have the money and willing to spend it to never get better… or it somehow helps pain or what have you… more power to you.

However from experience. Any problems that need “maintenance” has include questions around is the treatment effective, a placebo or just over stimulating pain centres or is it not intended to fix but rather derive long term income from a compliant patient?

I've gone from hardly being able to walk or sleep to resuming to a normal life once again after a visit to a good chiro. I'm guessing I've been a little rougher on my body than yourself though

I used to live in Calgary, and when I needed chiropractic care, I found Valeo Physiotherapy to be top-notch. They're located in south Calgary, so it might be convenient for you since you're in Cranston.

Ask yourself this, 'Why is there only one chiro school in all of english Canada'? Why don't any of the medical schools include chiropractic studies? Why doesn't the government health care extend to full chiro services?

I was more thinking we should ask ourselves why we are answering a question from 2021?

Dr Cummings at active back to health in chinook mall.

I’ve been seeing him forever. He’s not one of those guys who wants to see you over and over again. He does his thing gets me mobile again and says, “I won’t need to see you again until next time you mess yourself up.”
I appreciate that I’m not his personal retirement plan.
