not for me that stuff is too wimpy...
i just ordered a bunch of 4 different teflon coatings for one of my guns. its super easy to put on...and virtually impossible to remove. and $20 does two guns.

Roger, have you used that teflon coating before? If so what brand? I think I'd like to try that on at least one of my rifles.

I've ued Armacoat on a couple firearms now and it works very well and is very durable. Although it is a little more expensive.

Wow, he did a great job on that, looks factory. I really like it, but don't have the patience to do that myself.

i used a product called dura coat from a business in St albert called or search (black cat coatings). Ask for Al. he is a gun nut too and a super fella to boot.
Ive done the ms's weatherby with conetrol rings and bases in flat black inside and out, my 870 beargun in desert storm tan and with the black pistol grips, it looks just sweet, my marlin 17hmr's bolt in gloss black, and next i will be doing my stainless ultralite weathby in coyote brown and a lighter tan/brown color called underbrush.
my brother has done his ultralite sheepgun in snow with a grey steel checker plate design, looks cool and will be using the clear product to completly coat his stainless 7rum with a elk ridge custom thumbhole stock. we do screw heads, sling swivels, scopes/bases and wood, plastic, ill b painting my beatup maglites and surefire flashlites too etc. i got some on the visegrips i used to hold parts while painting and you have to file it off.
i did have a problem with the black wby, i used a oiless compressor but used airlines that had oil in them and it put fisheyes on the finish, its looks like stipple, It still looks kinda funky, however, that is not the fault of the coating.
the main thing is, as with any coating is cleanliness.
start at breakfast and done by lunch, and shooting in 24 hrs
its only a couple of mills thick.

duracoat has 90 odd colors and you can mix it up to your own too. its hard to beat i dont have any experience with the armacoat..i trust it is similair in characteristics.
Al at black cat also has gunzilla, its a kind of non toxic cleaning product. He gave me some too use this season so IIl be getting back to you all with a report..give them a call

Armacoat is very similar ro duracote as it is a two part epoxy type paint. Only problem is there aren't a lot of colour available. I'm going to have to give Black Cat a call and get the prices. I have a couple more rifles sitting here ready to be painted.
