Although he was my guy, I was a little skeptical as to how effective PP would be on account of his sarcastic nature before he became the leader of the blue team, but man he is firing on all cylinders. He has toned down the snarkasm and is speaking peoples language.

I’ve come to view Canadian politics as a puppet show. I support the conservatives but I’m not optimistic that anything meaningful with be done.
Anyone opposing the 5th pay raise for MPs since 2020 coming on April 1?
Perfect chance to hold the government to account but everyone will quietly take their bribe.

Sometimes, sarcacism is the best way to convey a message.

But unfortunately, some people are easily offended, so too much sarcasm could cost votes.

Not so sure about how the feds can really affect provincial and municipal building codes and requirements, which account for a large part of expense in building anything. So, in that case I do wonder at how much is real and how much is smoke and mirrors, but does make great political theatre.

I never understood cities trying to limit size and at the same time acreages popping up everywhere. Which is really the better use of space.

Meh, at least Trudeau cant call everyone a Nazi without his own escapades being mentioned.
Absolutely mind blowing how long it took for that to happen.

He will hold back federal payments not really all that hard. If you build you get cash IF bureaucracy gets in the way, then no dough for you. Woke cities like Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver etc. who keep throwing up political road blocks they will loose out.
Should use the same strategy for pipelines, roads and other infrastructure in my opinion. Should never have taken ~20 years to build a ring road around Calgary, as an example.

We need to be pushing the reduction immigration narrative. PP should be making that central or atleast talking about it. We don’t need every franchise run by temp workers hanging around just long enough to obtain PR status. Qualified immigration only otherwise we are in for a world of hurt in 3-10 years.
I really wish the cons would pick a real side on this subject.

I’m shocked at the number of people that think PP is going to dramatically change things.

I'm optimistic.
Question for you though, if he campaigns on major change, and wins a majority, why would he not?
I'd personally like to see radical change, which I know I'll never see, but even minor adjustments could make a noticeable difference.

What do you consider dramatic change? Abolishing the carbon tax, and ceasing the attacks on oil would be seen as dramatic by some. Abolishing the bills that prevent free speech could be considered dramatic. Reigning in irresponsible spending could be considered dramatic, if it reduces inflation.

Making an AR15 unrestricted. Make it legal to carry.

Yet many people don't care about AR-15s, so to them, it would be meaningless. Many people would prefer that the carbon tax be abolished.

Who cares what many people think? The fact of the matter is Liberals make changes. “Conservatives” like to ride status quo. It’s time we had a leader with a backbone. Is PP your man? I’m not convinced.

If he axes the carbon tax, and blocks the WEF agenda in Canada, I will consider that a good start. Then he can work on canceling the rest of the legislation that the Trudeau mafia enacted.

Never gonna happen in Canada. The best you will get is having its prohibited status returned to restricted and only one federal government will do that. You wanna be able to carry an AR-15 you best be working on alberta/western separation.

Yes, that would be pretty dramatic, and I don't expect he'll do that. I'd be okay with limiting spending, putting gun laws back to what they were, eliminating the carbon tax, stop vilifying oil and gas, etc.
I think some fairly minor actions could have fairly major repercussions on our standard of living.

You are right. We don’t have a Conservative Party in Canada. We never will.

A far right conservative party would never get elected in Canada, there are way too many people that expect handouts.

It’s time to change that. Let them cross the border to US for handouts and free stuff…
