Default Tikka/conversion

Good afternoon…. Have a Tikka 3 in 300 win mag. Is it possible to remove this barrel and add a 6.5 prc barrel. Will bolt dace etc be ok for this calibre change
I assume there are some mods to be done but is the idea worth considering

In a T-3, the actions are the same , as is the bolt face . The bolt stop is different, as is the magazine, but apparently some people are actually using the 300win mag magazine and bolt stop.

I had a 270 WSM I did this to, installed a 6.5 PRC from CarbonSix. I had to get the longer bolt stop and longer mag. You wouldn't have to do this.

Easy peasy. You could screw on a prefit barrel and be good to go. I am doing exactly that with a 7 PRC prefit. Tikka supplies a different magazine for the 6.5 PRC, but the 7 works perfectly fine with my 300 magazines (Tikka long) and the long bolt stop.
