Been hiding under a lily leaf? It's an invasive species that cold seriously screw up some lakes in Alberta. Look it up!

Any carp with nuclear capabilities makes me nervous.

I took a carp in Mara lake in BC while camping years ago. I'm not sure if it survived all these years. But if you're lucky you might catch yourself a corn back trout.

You shouldn't be Russian a carp.
You could blow a blood vessel.

But is it a carp? Sure looks like one, but on the 'My Wild Alberta' website it says they're easily confused with goldfish. Apparently goldfish lose their orange colour after a few months living in the wild, look identical to a carp, and it takes DNA testing to determine which is which. Seems a lot more likely to me that some local resident dumped their unwanted goldfish in the lake because they couldn't bring themselves to kill it (or them) which by the way is illegal and carries a fine up to $100,000. With evidence of one I'd bet there's more!

A DNA analysis has confirmed that it was a Prussian carp.
