Default Beautiful Nurses who can also run a safety line

Had an emergency type tree removal situation come up so I had to call on our backup safety person to attend....

Tree was dangerously hanging over a fence, ready to snap, and with kids in the area it was needing immediate removal.

Just so happens I was available and my safety person was highly skilled and just by luck, gorgeous.

So off we went, all geared up to assess how in hell we were gonna do this.

I managed a great toss and got the safety line exactly where we needed it to be. I brought out the Stihl 044 with a 25" bar and notched the underside about 2/3 through.

My observant safety person relaxed the line as I began my down cut and THAT was a very good thing as the main trunk bounced back upright as cut portion dropped to within one foot of the trunk.

Had she kept tension, I think that cut portion would have drove itself through the fence with minimal effort.

Zero damage caused by us thanks to someone who obviously paid attention in Physics 30.....lol

Now when my son, the expert tree technician, returns from surfing Maui, I will take him to the site and show him why he should hire this gorgeous nurse with the safety line talent, fire me, and put me out to pasture where I belong......😅

Its a good feeling to have experienced help in what could be a dangerous situation, and not hard on the eyes is a bonus.Glad it went well for you.Ive had problem trees in the past and they can be life threatening.

Agreed. They are all different. I found that out today. One swedish columnar was leaned towards a house. I roped it abiut 2/3 up, gave it a pull and the whole tree came down....all 35ft of it. It was rotted to the base. No way to tell under 3ft of piled snow......and they basicaly explode on impact.....had lots of room but still......

Had a similar situation with a birch as well - I climbed up to tie it off, and thought about going higher and thought better of it.

Turns out that the tree was rotten a few feet above my anchor point. Broke into a lot of pieces when it hit the ground.

Now I think about that every time I climb a tree when hunting...

Ive cut down thousands of trees over the years, mostly for firewood, and quite a few for logs.It was in my younger years that i made a few serious mistakes. One time i was cutting a juniper commonly used for boat building, with about a 30 inch butt and about 40 ft tall,it had huge limbs. When i finally fell it, the butt end bounced back about 4 ft and stopped about 3 inches from my face, now that was an eye opener. Another time i was cutting a log tree and the and the darn thing came back nipping my saw,it took me quite some time to get it free with my axe lol. lessons learned and over time i became pretty good with it but you always have to be careful cause a chainsaw can do a lot of damage to a body in a short amount of time.
