Guys please do not "roll the coal" black diesel exhaust is major cause of lung cancer. The small P2.5 particles carry PAH carcinogenic hydrocarbons that deposit deep into your lungs.

Old diesels needed more idling time. New diesels not so much. Learned this at an old job.

A quick review of the manual or online resources can show that.

Not sure why people don’t think idling a diesel beside people’s homes for an hour wouldn’t be un-neighborly.

It’s like then why not run the backpack blower and snow blower at 3 am. Because it’s rude and noisy.

Sometimes common sense eludes us but if neighbors are decent folks, having a conversation is a good place to start.

Common sense seems to be the ill of many problems these days.

Also cause major problems for those with lung issues, but you know, when you have to show the neighborhood whos got the big pee pee.

The RCMP probably laughed their arses off after that phone call.

What a waste of someone’s time.

Actually they took her complaint seriously and asked for the license number of the vehicle. So rolleye to you bucky boy. I'll get the number on a drive by so she doesn't get hassled by toxic wankers!

Sure they did, keep telling yourself that.

Waste of resources.

^ I found it ironic a dude with a handle “Roadhunter” comments on the idling thread implying that “excessive idling” is ok

Carry on though. I didn’t read anything but the last two posts on this page

It actually explicitly states in the manual for my 2017 that excessive idling is bad for the engine. It leads to varnishing of parts. Generally I will start mine, give it a minute then idle it up and turn on the exhaust break. It’s pretty warm within 10 minutes. Or I’ll just let it run 5 minutes and it will idle up on its own than drive gently until it’s up to temp.
