Anyone know if either or both of these lakes are still OK to launch a boat?

Desperate to go out one last time with a good bud who is about to put his boat away for the season.

As of thanksgiving weekend, the water level at Sylvan is down. You should still be good to launch at Sunbreaker or in Town. They are still patrolling for launch payment at Sylvan, also on the right side (looking towards the lake) there is a piece of pipe sticking up at Sunbreaker between the docks.

Pigeon lake lost over a foot of water . aswell .to low float boat dock now

I was in keho last week and the water level was normal. Saw 3 boats on the lake.

Not sure why they are patrolling for launch payment. I wonder if they are finished after the long weekend or are they still up to it?

Now the question I am wondering where is my best shot at some whites? Sylvan or Keho? I know at Keho I can hook into some nice size whites and walleye but it is quite a way further for me.

Also any advise on how to fish the whites when they are in either pre or full blown spawning

Well I went to Sylvan yesterday. Man the launch at Breakers is very very low. Water within the first 50 meters is 3ft at best so had be be very careful because of the high area which is graveled. 1-2ft.

Fishing was not too hot. A few small bites from the whites and zippo on the walleye. Tried jigging bottom bouncing and running craks at 3 mph. Not good nada.

Oh well now waiting for the hard water.

was fishing pigeon yesterday was trolling for walleye caught 15 walleyes and one pike in a couple of hours was trolling at 1.1 miles per hour ,.
you may want to try a slower presentation.
the bite was on and they were slamming it.

Bottom bounced for 2 hrs. always between .8 and 1.2 MPH several changes in spinner and bead colours not much luck.

Cranks atr 3MPH are usually quite good this time of year. Walleye will hit them very hard.

Not this time Talked with 4 other boats they all had the same bad luck. Nice that you got into them at Pidgeon. Not at Sylvan.

How deep were you trolling at Sylvan?

You would be surprised on how shallow the walleye hold in that lake most times of the year.

was at pigeon lake 17 feet deep was the ticket.

Bottom bouncing in 15-25 FOW Pretty sure I am somewhat familiar with what depths and best struture for walleye. I do not like going deeper than 25 because I always release and do not want to injure the fish.

With the fast crank speeds, (only in the fall) I use down rigger and set the depth at 10 -15 FOW

Because they were biting at Pidgeon does not mean much at any other lake but am happy you had a great time.

You’d likely be shocked at what would happen in 6-8 ft of water around weed beds

if nothing changes I will brave the weather and go to Keho on Sunday for last boating outing of the year. Wish me luck.

Spent 2hrs in 6-8 FOW so yes I was shocked. That nothng was biting and no signs on the sonar.

My average since I retired in 2010 is 2 times a week on the water. Before that it was every weekend. So I am somewhat sure I have a basic idea of how to fish the lakes I frequent from spring to late fall.

Talked to my sister in Coledale and no snow. They are under a snow warning but so far looks like it ain't gonna happen.

Hopefully you should be OK, Just be carefull on the gravel it may get muddy from the rain.

I live near Keho, it has just been raining steady all morning but no snow yet. The snow may come later today as in Macleod there’s 5” of snow on the ground and still coming down.

Thanks, but looks like I will skip it. Maybe next weekend if weather will warm up a bit.
