Great to see Savage! Nice looking pup. Lots more as well. We've been thinking/looking the last week or 2. Lost our Sammy early February. House isn't the same without him.
Enjoy every moment!

Ya just like our house isn't the same "after" getting a puppy lol.
Im sorry for your loss, what are you looking at getting? There's no replacing a family member but it's nice to fill the void. We lost our big guy a couple of years ago. Our place just wasn't set up for a puppy. It took us some time but it worked out.

They've gotten pretty close. Bug had a major medical procedure so they need to be separated for a few weeks which is driving them both nuts.

Yeah, puppies can be a real handful! Part of the game I guess. Hahaha!
Sammy was a wheaten terrier. We're thinking the same. They have quite the personalities. Real characters. That said they are terriers.....

Just got back from May long camping. This guy actually behaved pretty well. But this is all he's been doing since we got home.

Lots to process when they're pups, that plus growing requires lots of naps.

We inherited a just over year old Dachshund this weekend. We had been babysitting him for friends on a regular basis over the past few months as the husband was fighting cancer. He passed this weekend. His wife had asked us previously if we would want to take him. Long story short, we now have a Newfoundland and a new buddy for him. Cute little fella named Finnegan.

Doesn't look like the big guy minds having him around

Well our tiny little puppy that I posted at the begging of this thread turned 1 year old just a couple of weeks ago.
Looking back through my pictures I'm remembering how we were second guessing our decision. We thought he was possessed by Satan himself. His razor sharp teeth and high pitched growls mixed with his fearless aggressive demeanor scared the crap out of the boss. She was actually crying and scared of the little fluff ball. What did we get ourselves into.
Well fast forward a year and now he's just part of the family. He doesn't act like the devil as much anymore. Now he's a 115 lb, half deaf, needy, couch chewing, barfing, drooling, ball of energy. And we don't know what we'd do without him.

We bit the bullet about 3 months ago! Bernie, the Bernedoodle! He’s a holy terror! Left him with a friend for a week first of December. When I picked him up, my buddy said, I can describe your pup in one word, “ BUSY”!! True that.

Cool looking dog!
Ya it's funny, you have an old dog that knows the routines and is pretty well behaved. Then you get a puppy and they are nothing like the old dog and you thing what the heck did I get myself in to.

Gotta love the Rottie pics. My guy (3/4 Rottie 1/4 mastiff) turns 2 next month. One thing I wish I would have prepared for is that Rotties take longer to mature than most other large breeds. My guy is still very much a puppy at nearly 2. A 150lb+ puppy at this point lol. It’s fine except when it’s -40 and he can’t go for walks but he still needs to burn off all that energy somehow.

Had to add a couple more pics. Not sure how i managed to double post. Was on my tablet? This guy thrives in the snow and doesn't seem to mind the cold either! We don't walk him far but he seems more than ready to continue.

He's a beefy one. Yes I hear you about dealing with the long puppy stage in the winter time. I can't wait til spring.

Neat combo. I'd like to see more pics of the puppy growing up.
Yes puppy's are crazy. Maybe next time we'll adopt a senior instead

Take the ball dad I promise I won't bite you.
Its funny he got that soft squeaky ball in his puppy package. And besides some of the nubs worn down it's totally fine. Even after about 100 miles of playing fetch.
Everything else he rips apart. The boss buys him canvas tuff toys and he shreds them. She bought him an expensive, almost 2' dinosaur and in days it was toast. She bought him an indestructible egg toy and in about an hour it was ripped to pieces. Santa brought him a kong bone. And the next day he was pooping out green and orange chunks of rubber. But that squeaky ball has survived.
Also he hasn't figured out yet that he cannot fit through the dog door. He'll get a leg and his head stuck and it sounds like someone trying to bust down the door.

The puppy tries to play with the cat. But the cat doesn't care too much for the puppy. So the puppy steals the cats bed.

Grocery time for the puppy. I'm like an old woman chasing sales.
"I have a coupon for that!"
He gets a steak with salmon oil. His kibble mix. Probiotics. Joint supplements. Eggs, blueberries. Sometimes ground turkey. Whole sardines. And other stuff I can't think of.
Soon I'll be trying him on raw chicken. I just wanted to wait until he turned 1 year old.
We don't give him any people food or leftovers. Besides what he cleans off of my boys booster seat. He doesn't beg for food. And has no food aggression.

Loving the pics everyone. I miss not having a real dog. Wife's rat dog Chihuahua don't count as a real dog but the dog is super smart and been a pretty darn good lap dog. She is 13 now and showing her age(the dog ).
