Big Agnes Q core SLX
Looking at upgrading my sleeping pad next season. Anyone have any experience with this pad? Not to concerned on weight too much as a good night sleep on the mountains is more important to me than a bit of extra weight. Or does anyone have any other recommendations?

Tough to find a higher R value than that for the weight

Not with the big agnes, but I upgraded last year to an Exped SynMat UL Winter LW (I am tall, hence the LW). Its fantastic. I was using an older thermarest and the Exped is much nicer.

Xtherms are fantastic and extremely warm. The downside with the Xtherm is it is only about 2.5" thick. I use the Xtherm personally for 80% of my trips, but for some people to get a comfortable sleep in the backcountry they would prefer a little thicker pad.
Something like this: https://seatosummitusa.com/products/...r-sleeping-mat gives you a 4" sleeping pad with only a slightly lower R value.
No experience with the Big Agnes pad.

I had an older Q core I bought almost 10 years ago, used it on one hunt. Next time I used it, it wouldn’t hold air. Forgot about it and last year I thought I would try and find the leak, couldn’t find it. So I emailed BA and asked them if I could send it in for repair, they sent me a new one (which has the better valve). Had it at my door in a couple weeks. I have only used the new one a few times but it was very comfortable, will be trying more this winter on some overnight ice fishing trips.

Definitely like the thickness on that pad! May be worth a look.

We had big thick air mattresses in Mexico and it wasn’t as good as one would expect
It seemed to suck the heat out of you to heat that massive space
Ended up putting my thermarest on top of the thick air mattress and I was way warmer

Heard nothing but good things with thermarest’s. Mind you I also only usually do two backpacking overnight trips and usually am not out there after mid September so the temps are usually not bad.

Track and Trail has them but I bought online as I couldn't find the UL winter LW anywhere locally.

Insulated Air Core Ultra
I have the Big A, I really like it for size, weight, and durability. Great to sleep on. I run the "Insulated Air Core Ultra"
Sometimes I find that if there is no breeze, or you are trying to stay in your tent to inflate the sleeping pad. It can be a chore. It mainly just takes longer or many small inflations to achieve proper support.

Sequoia Supply in Calgary is a Big Agnes dealer. They ordered me a super compact bikepacking tent, and I've seen various sleep pads there. They can order whatever you want if they don't have it.
Jason is the Manager there, he's been very helpful.
