Quick tip for ya smart guy. When smoking the drapes? Stay away from the fiberglass versions.

Besides, some cartridges don't need to be 250 fps faster to perform properly.

No Rugers in this guy's arsenal bud. Mines a Rem. Sako has the #1.

Ammo manufacturers appreciate me not using a single shot. I'm more of a volume shooter. If I can't hit them I can try giving them heart attacks.

Just the sound of the cycling of a Mark V action typically induces said heart attack in most any critter on the planet. No shots needed, they're that deadly.

I understand completely. That grinding and gnashing of faux metal/aluminum/plastic would be enough to give me a heart attack too.

Kidding aside, I think Clay's 340 is a defiance, not a Mark V. If it is the one he showed me a few months ago.

A boat hunt shouldn't be hard on it.

I just left Watson and in the 6-7 years i was last here, it seems to have gone down hill significantly. As long as you have a safe place to store your vehicle Id say your all good. And about 40% of the fuel stops from South of Munch to Watson are closed, matters are ob fuel guzzling setup, but as long as your getting 300 kms on a tank, should be good.
Good luck, the Yukon is Gods country for sure!

Its Been 18 years since I have been up there . flew into Watson lake then took a bus ride into Casear ($20 there and back) Neat little town . I am sure its all gone since they closed the mine . Great place for a sheep hunt as well .

Took the .340 out today. 250 gr partitions at just under 2900 FPS. No pressure signs- I'm sure it would take a few more grains (IMR7828SSC) yet if I were looking for more velocity. Excellent accuracy. I just need to get the BTF made for the Z5 3.5-18x44 Plex and shoot it a few more times. Then good to go!

Just read this entire thread thinking it would finish off with an end tale…… guess I’ll come back!
