Go to the 2:20 mark to hear his take on the anemic offence.

Looks like the fans aren't coming out anymore. Was there 22,000 at the game yesterday? Pretty sad for a Friday night game with awesome weather. On TV it looked like one of the emptiest home games ever. My family had season tickets for 25+ years during the hay days of the late 70's into the 80's and up until the '04 season. After attending 100's of home games I became somewhat decent at estimating attendance just by scanning the stadium. Back in those days it was common to have ~40,000 per game. I'm not sure how much longer a team can remain financially viable without more fans in attendance. Corporate sponsorships can only go so far. But on a positive note the team did play a smidgen better last night even though the result was a loss.

Those comments almost need to be followed up with a clip of that drop he made late in the game last night.

It is my opinion that he should not lose his job and career over him exercising his freedom of choice over his own body. This seems very wrong to me. It is just my opinion and yes I am entitled to it just like anyone and everyone else. Please don't cancel me.

That was painful even for a Riders fan slow ball right in the numbers

Commonwealth did the right thing painting the seats, when the cameras pan you can't tell how many fans dropped their team like a hot rock.

What would you propose as a solution?

I do not have one. I'm not paid to come up w/ one either. That is not what I'm paid for as it is not my vocation.

Whew, and here I thought I was the only one!

I'll still watch some of the playoff games and finals... I had a lot more fun helping out with the local kids' leagues, though.

Great news out of the Eskimos, oops elks organization today: they fired the GM, head coach & president. Nothing like a good house cleaning

Yep good riddance to all 3. Bring Ed Hervey back as GM and Sean Flemming as President!

I agree this was the right move. Aside from Trevor Harris leaving (still not sure how this took place) their roster is really good and they should have done better. Oh well, umm....Go Winnipeg!!

.....and change the name back to the Eskimos
It was only the media that wanted it changed to create a story or an issue,
but that will never happen as the same media would beat that horse to death trying to save face

This news makes me smile, how the 3 lasted till the end of the season with a record like that and the way they played is beyond me.

Is he an interim GM or just advising and shortlisting the candidates? Either way having him help has to be a good step.

Sadly it looks interim, yet maybe, just maybe he'll hang in for a year or 2? I have always really liked this fellow.

“Here’s the thing,” Buono began in the one and only interview he said he’s going to do between now and finding the best man for the job. “I’m a CFL guy. I’ve always been a CFL guy.

I'm a CFL guy too. I don't think WB will be GM, more of a talent scout for the club. He'll short list candidates for the GM and President job, and make recommendations to the nervous 9. I could see him working as an advisor and mentor to a new GM or president.

^^Agreed. This is good news for the Esks either way. The first good news in too long.
PS. "-" His quote, not mine. Though I am a CFL guy too, to the core, just because.
