Default 138 cwd testing

I found it odd cwd is not mandatory this year in 138 and other zones. Are most of you guys still getting your deer tested in these zones. Not sure what to do with our whitetails.

I'm in 148, Same situation, not mandatory but the drop off freezer is still there.
I'd get them tested.

As others have said here in the recent past, the determination of which units to require testing or not has nothing to do with food safety. Certain units where CWD is well-established were taken off the list for mandatory testing, presumably because of a lack of resources necessary to continue testing every animal taken in those areas. Testing resources are apparently being concentrated more on units at the edge of known CWD areas in order to monitor the spread of the disease to new areas.

If you are not comfortable with the risk of eating a CWD-positive animal, you should get them tested.
