Now, back to more polite programming. While I don’t know who will be the captain of the Flames, I do believe they will be a tougher team to play against. I think they will do better this year. Not playoffs, but better.

Who will captain the Flames this year?

Default Let me go on record

From time to time, I like to engage in friendly banter, but try not to cross too many lines, thus lobbing some grenades my buddy TC’s way.

However, let me go on clear record. I loudly cheer for the Flames to do well, up to the point that they may eliminate my beloved Oil from the playoffs.

The BOA is never better than when both teams are doing well!

Seriously Bessie? This isn't even NHL hockey, it is still try outs. Wait for the first regular season game, I will do our traditional bottle just to be a good sport to open the season.

After that, I think only a madman would bet on the Flames with that roster and with Sutter coaching again. And I say that with the utmost respect for him, but he is too old school and doesn't do well with the young players at this point. I predict another painful year for Flames fans.

Twisted Canuck is speaking great wisdom he is.

Calgary will win tonight. They are icing their home lineup, so a more experienced one for the fans.

The Oilers are icing a poor version of an AHL team.

Sns2 just said Flames would win tonight, you really want to bet against that wisdom?

Lucic, Ritchie, Gudbranson, Zadorov…. I think Darryl is building a certain type of team. Poor Johnny is going to be showering with his bathing suit on if he didn't do that already.

That was quite a thrashing last night. And this pre-season game means more than you think.

DEFENSIVE PAIRINGS

NOAH HANIFIN

The Oilers on the other hand had 1 projected 3rd liner, 2 projected 4th liners, and 1 projected d-man playing.

Big congratulations to the kraken on their first nhl win! Albeit a preseason game. But a first win nonetheless!

Yes I read this earlier and its a real shame. Both for his health and career. He's a real firecracker for our Oilers. I hope this can get better and he can get back to playing.
