Default Moment of impact

Got back from my trip. Spending time with family, fishing, and farming.

Thought I'd share a couple of photos I thought turned out well.

I post this on the hunting forum but it isn't hunting in the normal sense.
This is damage control.

Bears are tearing up my brothers crops and this one paid the ultimate price for his meal.

Putting on the sneak.

Moment of impact.

The plumb is dust flying off the bear's fur.

Kill all those nuisance rascals.

I’ve had 6 bales opened up by one already. And I’m sure that same bugger put the chase on some calves and pushed a few cows through a fence.

His hours are numbered.

That's pretty wicked!

I know this is strange to pick out but I love that he is just wearing a regular shirt and not decked out in camo

I don't know anyone who wears camo for hunting.

I wear camo when shopping, because it is more comfortable then a suit and tie.

If I have it on when I go hunting, oh well. Bears see more with their noses then with their eyes. Moose see more with their ears then with their eyes.

Excellent!

And yes, camo is so over rated.

I was trying to catch the rifle firing. I know, it's one one hundredth of a second event. I was a few milliseconds too late and caught the moment of impact instead.

I was pretty excited about that.

Yeah the bears are pests, in the yard.

I was visiting with a neighbor earlier in the day. He lost his cabin in the last flood and has been sleeping in an open faced shed while he rebuilds.
He told me that last week he had a bear walk right past the open front of the shed, just ten feet from his bed.
As if that wasn't bad enough it came back later that day. He shot it and two other bears before nightfall that day. All within a few yards of his living quarters.

While I was there my brother shot one in his yard, just feet from the house and three more in a small field just down the hill from his yard.

They have flattened several acres of the best oat crop he has had in years.
And they have done a lot of damage in the peas as well.

I am guessing but I figure there are close to 50 bears in a four square mile around his farm.
We did count 13 in one field, one day.

I think it’s the oat field Ken.

It’s like a bear magnet. We had the neighbor farmer seed oats fight next to our old hunting g cabin one year.

Never see more bears before or since that time.
