Default A good day in the bush.

My friend and I went hunting today, second hunt of the year together.

I usually hunt alone but there are times it's nice to have company.
We had a successful day.

We hunted grouse, we usually hunt grouse when we hunt together. He uses a shotgun, I use a .22 so we take turns according to which shots are best suited for the gun we carry.
That works well for both of us.

A photo of our days score,

We did see grouse, three in fact. Two were Sharptails and one Ruffed.
The season for Sharptails closed a week ago so we had to pass on them.
We didn't see the Ruffie until it flushed so no shot there either.

But we managed to date the hottest chick in each other's high school, we solved all the world's problems, we learned about each others cooking and we even managed to tell a few lies.

You can't ask for more then that.

The best part of hunting with a buddy is the conversations.

With the low Grouse numbers we have this year it's about all there is for a reason to hunt them.

I've never seen so few Grouse in a season.
