Default 260 or 6.5 or 26 Nosler

Looking for a new rifle for my son. It will be used for everything in Alberta.
Left hand.

Looking at the Cooper or Christensen Arms.
Can’t seem to find any for sale or in stock other then in the US.

Any help would be great

Thanks

I have a LH .260 TIKKA T3, if you can find him one you can’t go wrong.

Id get a 6.5cm, 260 rem or 6.5x55 to start.

6.5prc recoils quite a bit more. He can always upgrade to one after becoming familiar.

It is bad to develop a flinch being afraid of the muzzle blast and recoil.

Prc has very little recoil
If the op is considering a 26 nosler
A prc would be approx half of that
A creedmoor or 260 gives up approx 300 fps to the prc and 700 fps to the 26

Marky
I have a PRC and he shoots it well but he has always wanted a 6.5 of his own.
I do agree that the PRC is great but just not for him.
Thank you

I have a Christensen in 6.5PRC, two friends have Christensens in 7mmremmag. I am very impressed with the Christensens for the price.

No. But it is a 700 clone, so 700 conversions can be used. Personally, I like the floorplate.

How does a 6.5prc recoil compared to max load of .30-06 with 180gr bullets?

No muzzle breaks please

Similar powder charge, but lighter bullet, so less recoil. But flatter trajectory .

Go 26 nosler!
Lots around and recoil isn’t bad at all. Load some 142 ABLR or 140 A-Frames and he’ll be set!
