Default Rings and bases for Remington Model Seven

I just bought an older Model 7 which has one hole in the back to accept rings/bases. Besides the Leupold one piece bar that joins the bases, is there any other system that provides independent system to avoid the bar?

Get a second hole drilled and tapped in the rear bridge to take tally lightweights.
Or just use them with the one hole. I have a model 600 Rem secured with one screw in talleys and it hasn’t moved.

Thats not a bad idea. However, if I do that, part of the rear base may extend past the receiver? Can you pm me a picture of your rear base buddy? Thanks.

I used a drop of epoxy instead of drilling a hole on a 600 action it was on a 350 Mag never had a problem coming loose, to remove use a heat gun wont leave a mark.

Use Talley LW’s with the one hole. Attach the front ring. Use a 1” bar to align the rear ring and JB weld it to the receiver.

The Talley rear base is cut narrow to match the small rear bridge on a model 7. There is no overhang
