Cool 300 rum reloads

was just wondering if anyone has some experience and advice on a good 30 cal 200 gr bullit to use to reload for my 300 rum. all i have used so far is the 200 gr partitions factory loaded, the work well but the only thing i have shot so far is a target on a tree and they went right through it. I think that maybe i should try something that expands more , or something like that. Just looking to hear from some of you who may have some good advice.

The last 3 years I have played around with almost every load possible.. I have finally found the load that works best for my gun and am shooting 165gr scirrocco 2s with 92 gr of hodgesons 4831.. I would say just play around a bit a find what works best for you .. goodluck

My favorite hunting bullet for the 300RUM is the 180gr TSX or TTSX.With R-25 driving them at 3380fps,they expand well, hold together, and offer great penetration.

That partition will expand very well in pretty much any game animals you hunt. I use 200gr accubonds with 95gr Retumbo, Nosler brass and CCI magnum primers. I have shot several game animals with it from small whitetails to heavy blackbears and it has performed well on all of them for me. Expanded well on the whitetails, and still held together enough to break a shoulder and exit the far side on a bear.

I see quite few of you use the 180 gr bullits in your reloads. Are they better than the 200 gr? i would like to load the 200 gr and have one load for this gun. If the 180s are the way to go then i may give it a try.

The 180gr TTSX will hold together better than a 200gr Partition, and they are more accurate in my rifles.I would not hesitate to tackle any game in North America with the 180gr TTSX.
