Sylvan - First Truck Tries out the Ice ... Fail
Fella I know posted these on Facebook, he says it was his neighbor who lives on the lake in the Jarvis Bay area .... wonder what he was thinking.

Wow. That truck even has a service body on it. That unit can't be light. At least no one got hurt. I don't think I'd even be going out with an ATV yet let alone a heavy unit like that!!

It’s quite obvious he wasn’t thinking. At least the recovery shouldn’t be to difficult.

Agreed .... the lake just iced over the last few days, some cold temps in forecast but not cold enough for anyone to be driving on.
Will post some pic's of the ice condition on the weekend.
Cheers

Looks to me like he wasn't going ice-fishing, he was just driving out very near-shore, probably to get access to his dock to do some work on it or haul some stuff from it. Must have figured that so close to shore and shallow it would be frozen to the bottom and have supported his truck. Wrong!

Stop being ignorant and derailing a thread. 100% of people think that guy is a fool, and if they don't then they need help.

Only seen a vehicle go through the ice once and it was on New Years Eve in Sylvan. Looked to be a GM suv of some sort and the whole rear end sunk....Forrest Gump said it best, stupid is as stupid does....

I actually love this post .......... you said what the rest of us were thinking.
It is, without argument, a foolish thing to drive on the ice this early in the season. There really isn't any intelligent argument anyone could make to convince me otherwise or to justify such foolish actions.
This guy is very lucky most fools have 9 lives.

I love that they have shovels out. Two gomers where dumb enough to drive on but even more comical they had shovels out like they where going to try dig them self’s free. They defiantly thought about ice thickness because they stuck to the edge little do they know the edge I usually the Weakest areas. I’m sure they pooped a little when is broke through. They where the firsts but they won’t be the last.
