I generally get maybe 3yrs out of one before performance tanks out. I also admit I don't take care of them either. I let them freeze over winter. I don't have a garage. I buy cheepo ones from Walmart or anywhere that may have a sale going. Even taken care of, I've found they don't perform very well after a couple years anyways. Been a while, but I think I got my last one for my trolling motor from Walmart for about $80. I haven't bit the bullet, but I will one day. I suggest separate batteries for fish finder and trolling motor. It has caused me so much frustration in the past, running both off the same battery.
