Moving the scope forward addresses a symptom, not the problem. A small stock on a big man is a pain in the hoop. At 6'5" i know this first hand.
I would find a suitable replacement with a longer length of pull and put the original back in the closet. Who knows, your son may end up being built like his grandfather.Would also make for a good youth stock if you have a kid who wants to hunt with you.
