One step closer to my Grand masters for the ABA. Two species left.

Got this beautiful creature this morning. I had to take advantage of the weather and had to get out with the bow instead of the rifle.
Every thing came together today. I sat myself on the ground just inside the edge of a set of bushes facing an open grazing area and let Rip a few blind bleats and he came in behind 2 does. The does walked past me but be stopped at 10 yards broadside. I had a Montana deer decoy set up 30 yards infront of me and he was VERY interested in her. I had my bow in my lap, arrow knocked. All I had to do was raise the bow and draw. Hit him with a Rage Trypan through both lungs. He ran about 80 yards to the opposite set of bushes and tipped over about 60 yards in the timber. I'm a very happy guy, the wife's even happier for lots of jerky this winter!

I've had quite the season, on top of my archery bear and mule deer, I tagged a turkey in Quebec, Pronghorn buck in Wyoming and Whitetail buck at home in Saskatchewan.

We got my fiance's 2018 deer back from the taxidermist back in October. I figured I would share it. Taxidermy work was done by artistic taxidermy in Edmonton.

I very partial to mule deer and that has to be one of the best positioned mounts I've seen in a while. Very nice.

Yeah we are definitely happy how it turned out. Brian has done a few mounts for me the last few years and they all have turned out really nice. I was worried that the buck would lose a bunch of mass after the velvet had dried. But it turns out he didn't lose much at all. This was her very first deer, so she definitely lucked out.
Now I have to get a velvet buck for myself! Good luck to everyone in 2020!
