Default Nikon Monarch 4-12x42

Picked up my Nikon tonight from WSS.
My initial impressions are - WOW! This thing is clear and bright!

To be honest I thought it was a smidge better than all the VXIII's that I looked through. No disrespect to the Leupold crowd - I had full intentions of picking up a VXIII based on all the rave reviews I read on this forum, and no one can argue that their service is second to none...

That being said, I saved about $325 and got a scope that was slightly better, to my eyes.

I'll have the gun out to the range on Saturday to see how she performs.
If you haven't considered Nikon before, give them a look. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Cheers.

PS. The fellow at the counter (can't recall his name) was very good to me...but he handed me a box of 180gr bullets for my 30.06 when I clearly asked him for 150gr. Are they going to give me grief when I try to exchange them tomorrow?

Thanks.

Default exchange

Most places don't take returns on ammo, nice job on the Nikon, I have the Monarch in the 6-20 on my 204 and a couple of Buckmasters as well. Seem to be decent value for the money. FS

Sorry about that. It is 3-12x42. Great scope.
Sighted it in on Saturday and I'm very impressed! My confidence just went up 10x for this upcoming hunting season. I have a relatively short comfort zone and rarely take shots past 200 yards. This year I won't hesitate taking a 300 yrd shot if the right opportunity presents itself.
