Every day with a stainless steel bore brush, whether I shoot it or not. 1000 strokes with the brush followed by 20 patches saturated with bore cleaner followed by a complete dunking in light machine oil.
Seriously, I clean a .22 rifle or pistol every 300 rounds or so. Some semi-autos can get a little balky at this point, and I like clean guns.
20 strokes with a bronze bore brush, a few patches of bore solvent, and a oiled bore patch. Wipe the interior of the action with bore cleaner and use a toothbrush if needed.
Wipe the parts with oil and apply a little oil or moly to the sliding parts.
