There are still plenty around just not in the Mannyberries area. Tons of em in Montana and they still have a season with a 3 bird limit.

Not to good eating cause they eat the tip of the sage bush so way worse than the spruce grouse. The secret to cooking the sage is to suff em with a dressing, roast in the oven when done throw the stuffing out. It sucks all the sage from the carcus. Trick my mother taught me, she was born on the praries and in the 30's that was about all they could find to eat.
