Bessie, I love your optimism, albeit misplaced. 
To me, the big difference this year from last is Talbot....That guy stood on his head last year, stealing wins where perhaps they should have lost. He is looking incredibly mortal this year.

That offside rule is absolutely ridiculous. I don't care which team it is (even Calgary), this rule needs to change. In a league that is trying to find ways to increase scoring, to have goals called back because a skate is a mm off the ice should be gone. The rule should be the plane of the blue line, then there is no questioning it. I've always hated this rule as it defies logic.
If a puck is bouncing and goes in the net, but the goalie hits it back out before it contacts the ice or the net, it still counts as it crossed the plane, no different.
That being said, the rule is the way it is right now, and he was offside. It is just the way this season is going. I agree about Talbot, he is a shell of his former self. Hard to get angry anymore........

Business Advice
I thought I would share a guaranteed return on investment strategy with everyone.
Right now I know Oiler's fans are feeling upset, almost depressed even. After all, they wasted a couple hundred bucks last April buying jersey's and little Stanley Cup's with Oiler's logos on them, and probably some Oiler's decorated underwear which has since been soiled.
But I have a way you can recoup your losses. You can take all those bright orange jersey's and sell them to the city. With construction season ramping up shortly, the city could fill them with sand and use them as pylons. If you have watched an Oiler's game in the last week, you know they definitely look like pylons (except Oiler's management didn't use sand, they used sh*t).
Now, if the city doesn't want to purchase such a crappy product. You can always put them on kijiji and test your luck. You could probably get a solid 7 dollars back and a lesson learned.
Take your cash and invest in KY Jelly. With the cold weather, Valentine's Day coming up, and the Oiler's season about to turn around (according to Bessie), this stock is going to skyrocket.
