The quest is finally over.
Just picked up my new bowtech reign 7 from Jim-bows in Edmonton. Couldn't b happier with it. Took a few months of shooting different bows and internet surfing but finally. Carson and Dave great guys and great shop. Hope the weather breaks next week so I can shoot some distance with it.

Carson was great dealing with me on my first bow, bowtech carbon icon. I highly recommend jimbows to anyone.

Cool looking bow. I shot the Reign 7 at Jim Bows and was impressed with the draw cycle, low shot recoil, and all the adjustability in the cams.
Good luck with the new purchase!!!

That's what I thought too. The assassin is flat black so that was the reason. They won't see me this year.

That is a nice looking bow!
Lots of air in that riser I'll bet it's light, what is the mass weight stripped ?
I would expect the open design to the riser will make a side view of the
bow more transparent in addition to being lighter in mass.

I think the Reign are 4.2 lbs bare. The riser is quite stout even though it doesn't look like it.

Thanks LC, that's close to my DXT not bad at all.
I'm sure it is strong, this is the first time in quite a
while that I see a riser and limb configuration that's
stealthy, appealing to look at and a speed bow.
Can't afford to buy a new bow this year, but if I can
shoot one at bow shop this summer I'm gonna try
one out for sure.

It's not the lightest bow on the market. Some might have to do crossfit or something before taking this bow out to the bush. ....

Nope pretty much right on par with other big manufacturers. Hoyt Defiant comes in at the same....Halons are coming in around 4.5+ pounds.
Personally a bit heavier bow holds better for me anyhow. I use front and back bars (back bar with 8oz of added weight) on my hunting bow, a 5 arrow quiver, Spot Hogg sight, Hamskea rest, and a bow mounted camera (none of which are built to be light). The day I can't carry my bow is the day I take up a different activity.

Great looking bow. It's awesome you're pumped to shoot it and you let it choose you after trying so many options. That alone will give you confidence in your ability.
I've never understood the weight issue. Some people care and others don't. You will not shoot that bow and dial it in at all sorts of distances and then walk away saying you wish it was 3 oz lighter
Thanks for sharing the pics. Next up: tight groups of arrows, THEN: bloody arrow, short blood trail, and your elk

Carrying around a 15 lbs rifle in the same bush as with bow. So a pound or two is not a concern with me. I read a few threads on here and it seem to b the common advice to shoot as many different bows as u can and let the bow decide. Didn't have a budget per day but had a ball park price in mind.
Now just need to become efficient and precise with the new bow.

I don't mind jimbows.. but I find they tend to push certain brands really hard.. bowtech, MBG, Victory.. makes me a bit suspicious of the kick backs they are getting with certain brands.

Other bow shops have done the same for years.

I didn't get that feeling when I was in JimBows, actually it was ridiculously friendly and relaxed. With that said, I think promoting certain brands is common place regardless where you shop or who you ask. If you ask Trophy Book Archery they will sway you towards Mathews. I personally know this as fact. If you ask any pro-staff archer or any in archer in general what their opinion is, they are going to promote their sponsor or the equipment they use because they think it is the best. At the end of the day if a company or person promotes a product and stands behind that product because they think it is the best, then I don't think anyone can fault them for it.

They don't get kickbacks, they carry brands they can stand behind and have good business dealings with.

As a shop that also does repairs, they sell multiple brands. Maybe they are biased towards one brand or another based on rate of repairs. I know when I work retail/service I would recommend different brands based on what my repairs looked like. If it was a brand that I was constantly working on, I'd be a little more hesitant to recommend it. Granted, the more repairs, the more money the shop made but the less time playing with said item. The shops don't make their money on the bows, but more likely on the arrows, the broad heads, the sights, quivers, etc.

It seemed every time I brought up a different brand they would just shoot it down with all negatives and I just felt like they didn't provide many other options. Just my experience and feelings.

I know they will order in whatever you need if you want something they don't carry.
Curious which product you wanted that they didn't have on the shelf?

they do stand behind what product they like .. not sure what you consider as kickbacks ... they do get better deals if they personally want to buy a certain bow they deal with... just like your pro deals you have LC

Buying their own products for what the store pays is a deal yes...just like any other business owner.
They don't get free products for selling certain manufacturers products....that's what I consider "kick backs". Depending on who helps a customer on the floor...you will get a different opinion on what they like and use.
Vortex or Bushnell "Bucks" that they were handing out to retail employees for selling their products is what I would consider a "kickback".
