The king cobra is definatly up there . As for it being loud ,not at all but with any super fast bow you are going to have a brace height under 6 1/4 inches . Which makes it very torquie and less for giving than a bow with a bigger brace height . High country and Pse also Bowtech definatly have bows in excess of 350 fps. If you want to see some relly nice bows come check out the 3-d indoor nationals in redeer march 28 .

I have one of the proto type King cobra from APA here in my hands today, If I can get the time I will be shooting it at nationals this month.
There is very little hand shock at all and hardly any noise from it when shot. I am shooting it at 60lbs 28 inches feels like pulling a 45 lb bow so smooth it is scary. I am getting 340+ at 60lbs and 28inches long. If you make it to nationals look me up and you can give it a shot and see what you think

Speed isn't Everything
What ever Bow your Holding in your hand at the time for you to take the Kill Shot is the Fastest Bow out there!!!Speed isnt everything for a Hunting Bow,You want accuracy Forgiveness,Quietness and then Speed!! I Shoot a 06'PSE Bruin and an 09'PSE Stinger,I am dead on at 30 yrds with both Bows and They are both Very Quiet,Accurate and Very Deadly!!!

to my knowledge, I think APA has the fastest bow.....but do you really need more than 330 even for 3d?

Don't forget to look at a Ben Pearson TX4 or Z34 R2B2 cams both very fast and forgiving. my 2 cents. Something else IBO rating's are just number's every bow out there will be a different speed. As we all aren't 30" DL and pull 70#'s as this is how they rate the speeds and thats a bare bow nothing on the string and probally shot from a Hooter shooter with zero affects on the bow.
IMO IBO speeds are over rated
Best is to get a bow that is comfortable for yourself and feels good to shoot. The deer and Elk or what have you are not going to care if your arrows goes 300+ FPS or 270 FPS,as long as the shot is placed right, no need to keep up with the Jones down the road lmao!
But I do like my TX4 70# 29" DL fires a 400 Grain hunting arrow 322FPS and thats right around

I'd rather hit 'em where it counts with my stick that is under 200than miss them with something going 300!

PSE xforce OMEN is the fastest and pse will continue to dominate throughout this speed race...SORRY mathews guys, APA guys, I like and have the utmost admiration to all of those companies but PSE has proven they are a FORCE to be reckoned with...
Personally I shoot a ross cardiac 07 model...I Owned a mamba x2 and sold it to a friend who wanted it it was faster than my cardi but noisier...I will sacrifice the speed for the noise level.
REMEMBER a slow hit is better than a fast miss.
CP
This is all just opinion guys dont take it personal.

Uhhh, Al has no idea what you are talking about. And if anyone (especially Hoyt) had broken the 400fps marker at 5 grains per pound the industry would be on fire about it. I do know that Limbsaver is going to start warrantying their bows at something like 3 grains per pound and their engineers have the Speedzone doing over 400. But there are about a dozen bows that could break 400fps at 3 grains per pound right now, so no big deal.
SLAMMER, please iterate your issue with APA please. You shouldn't just drop statements like that and leave unanswered queries.

Really? You've shot all of them? I'd say the same about my MX1, little less forgiving but smooth and reaaaalllly fast. Fast enough the Alphamax can't catch it.

Fastest bows
It's the X force Oman. End of discussion. 335 Fps at 60lbs. with a 28"draw. I saw the crono. Do the math. Cracked to 70LBS with a 30" draw....OMG.
I shoot the X force and its plenty fast for me at 340 fps.
Mathews Monster is an overrated X Force copy.

They are all fast enough, plus from what I am told the noise even on these new (speed) bows is alot less than the bows of the past. I think that the string stop technology has made "speed bows" feasable for hunting situations. I was told by bow shop owners that some of the old bows used to sound like 12 guages, but you know what?? they shot deer back then as well. According to IBO ratings the PSE is the fastest, by a couple of feet. Personally I just got an APA Black Mamba MX2. Fast enough for me and has a 7 3/8th brace height and doesn't twist or jump in my hand. IBO of 340.
