Use of live bait
Now I went through the regs and there is no where in there that say's you can not use live frogs. It does say no live fish or crayfish. You can use live leaches and worms, NOW CAN YOU USE LIVE FROGS?

I believe most amphibians including frogs are protected.

We used to use live frogs in Saskatchewan. You could buy frog harnesses made for using live frogs,we hooked the frog through the lip and back leg if no harness was available. Rules may be different now.

Just looked it up. It’s in General regulations. It is in fact unlawful to use frogs and amphibians as bait.

Back in the 70s we never targeted frogs for use as bait, but if one hopped along. Burbot, walleye and pike along with the odd goldeye will eat most things.

I caught a fairly big walleye last fall in the Bow with a frog in its stomach

Live Frogs were always legal to use AFAIK. You could even buy a Frog harness at one time.

Just because you can buy a frog harness doesn't mean it's legal there's lots of things in Alberta you can buy that are not legal but you can still buy them .does anyone have copy of the regs that says they're legal or not
