Default .257 weatherby magnum

I am looking into purchasing a .257 magnum for my next rifle I was wondering how many of you guys use your .257 for more than deer or sheep hunting. I do not hunt sheep I just wanted another gun to add to the collection but if I do I would like to use it for moose or elk as well.

Load Er up with 100 TTSX as fast and as accurate as you can get and don't think twice.

I agree with Kingrat. 100grTTSX's out of my .257WBY are great killing bullets.
I used to use 115gr NPT's, but switched to the TTSX a couple of years ago.
The two largest animals to fall so far, have been elk. A raghorn bull, and a large cow. They were both between 175-200 yards away. I hit the bull in the shoulder blades, he was dead right there, the bullet exited. I had better shot placement on the cow, I hit her in the ribs, she ran hard for about 30-40 yards
and died. That bullet exited as well. The heart/lung area of both elk, were in complete shambles.

I owned one but only punched paper with it. But like Layne Simpson used to say, "From mice to moose".....

Several moose elk deer wolves etc etc for me.100gr ttsx at 3800 does anything I need. Keep the bullet at or under 100gr. Any heavier you could consider a 6.5x300wby or 270wby.
Velocity kills. Lazer like ballistics..Not to friendly to meat or fur.
Reloading really brings out the beast.

Not a 257wby but I used my 25-06rem with 115gr Nosler Partitions to kill a black bear last spring. Stalked into about 40m and hit him right behind the shoulder, bear went 1m west and about 40m straight down but luckily piled up against a big fir tree or else it could have become a couple of hundred meters. I wouldn't hesitate using the same combination on elk or moose. I'd also like to try 90-100gr TTSX but they're difficult to find in 25-06 factory loads.
