Anybody into slingshots on here? Looking for a good quality folder, not made of hollow plastic. Looking for a nice compact deal like a Robertson Pocket Rocket, just not mine...

Yep right here buddy.

I would enter a competition no problem.
When I worked at a fab shop the management team asked me if I could take care of the pigeon population in the shed.. I was more than willing

I found that a 5/8 nut flies true and with the sharp edges inflicts the required damage to do the job.

I would personally use a rigid sling shot.
I have one with an aluminum frame, padded wrist area.

Name and brand unknown.

With practice you should be able to rip through a pop can at 25'. Easy.

I like to turn mine side ways, gansta style...and aim off the top arm.

The mechanics would essentially be the same as shooting a bow with bringing your grasped fingers back to the same spot every time.
Same pull back length..

True story. It's illegal to use a slingshot in a provincial park
And subject to a fine.
I think the fine should be more than what it cost my son to replace my buddies windshield

I love practising with one of mine, esp. while I'm waiting for a bell to ring on a pic rig. Also have a large ring to to slide up and sit between uprights so you can fire an arrow with a wrist rocket. Haven't installed that yet.
As for ammo I prefer marbles. Perfectly round and uniform.

Try shooting those cheap brass with plastic fight darts that come with the paper dart boards they really fly out of a wrist rocket. Or some lead shotgun pellets wrapped in a cigarette paper for close range shots at barn swallows.

Like this? I received this as a youngster. If there is such a thing as a heirloom quality slingshot, I would say this qualifies.

Looking for one for a young feller. Ever see those Chief AJ slingshots? Bartons had some for a while. I should have bought one. Shot arrows too.

My slingshot shooting is kind of a 45 degree angle. Semi-gangster? With skill level to match!

Slingshots have come a long way since David and Goliath

http://hiconsumption.com/2015/02/bes...-for-survival/

The Glove shot looks like a good rig 3/8" steel ball at 150 fps a little expensive at $190

Default Sling shot ammo

Black power bullet molds in .36 .40 .45 cal. round ball filled with melted wheel weights . They are hit hard and fly true, inexpensive to make.

I picked up one on ebay that came with a removable whisker bisket too. With the heavy band it slings arrows just a tad bit slower than my wife's bear cruzer compound.

Slingshots were easy to master. As a kid in my early teens, I made my own Slings and mastered that. Yes, as in David and Goliath.

I had a wicked shot with that thing.

I've shot a sling shot all my life. Taken grouse rabbits etc.
Drove a moose out of the yard in the winter of 2010. She was feeding on the planted shrubs. A few glass marbles off her skull plate chased her away.
I always carry one while sheep hunting and shot Ptarmigan when they presented themselves.
As a kid I worked at a terminal grain elevator on the west coast and shot rats.
They are great fun and cheap to hunt with.

I just made a double bander (4 total) out of UHMW. Being an adult I feel that an arm brace is not necessary any more. 4 bands will launch a 3/4" nut out to about 25 yards with no holdover, with my anchor point, and leave a pretty good sized dent in the steel garbage bin behind my house... no matter how many guns I own, destroying a tin can with a slingshot will always be ridiculously fun.

I got one of the wife's friends to pick me up some marbles from the dollar store a while ago. I think I got about a thousand for $10.

Back when I was a tyke, Dad collected a big pile of ball bearings, and heated them all so they would take paint. He painted them all orange. Went through them pretty quick, and had trouble finding any that were shot.

I would probably use buckshot also.

Although not a folder i prefer the barnet diablo its a beautiful little rig for in yard pigeons and pests. If your stuck on a folder lookfor the good old canadian tire special. The can tire folder can sure take the abuse in fact its the only plaything i had that lasted my entire childhood.

I will probably pick up a Barnet as Dad had one he gave me when I was young. For old times sake. Not sure what happened to the old one, but this time around I will probably get the deluxe one with sight.

But still stuck on a nice folder for the boy.

Has anybody ever made a sling bow? I gave it a go a coupla times but never got one to function properly. Maybe surgical tubing cant generate enough energy to propel an arrow?

I tried using a whisker biscuit but couldn't get a proper release.

A few years back Halford's advertised one but they apparently never did get them?

I have a bit of a collection. My favourite if i could have just one is made by Pocket Predator. Its called a Hathcock Target Sniper or HTS as its known as in slingshot circles/forums.

I mostly shoot a lot of PFS's. Short for Pickle Fork Shooter. Google it if interested lotsa very fast and trick shooters out there.

The guy from Pocket Predator---Bill Hays that made my HTS can hit and light hanging matches from 30 feet with ease. Dont call BS just google. Theres all kindsa u tubes on it and several large forums. I know i wouldnt believe it if i hadnt been around this stuff for years.

I also shoot bare back which is sans a fork. Hit most of what i shoot at.
