Default Frozen/thawed hides

I have a couple deer hides in garbage bags frozen in my shed.

During a couple of our warm spells the hides thawed out, they were still cold but plyable. They are frozen again but looks like the warm up is here.

They thawed out twice that I found, only for a half day or so at a time. Never warm, always cold still.

Are the hides still worth tanning? I was planning on taking them to Edmonton this winter but never went.

My skinned deer head in the same shed has also thawed a few times. It has what looks like a greyish mould on it. Should I be worried about the hides having turned green? They look fine from what I can see.

Default Hides

Your hides will probably be fine for making leather. When I tan sometimes I rot them a bit on purpose to remove the hair, no harm done.
