Default What motorcycle would be good for a homemade bobber project

Looking to get a project started this year and I'm looking to make a homemade
Bobber motorcycle. Not looking to spend a lot. But I'm wondering what would be a good old bike to look to get for a place to start with? I'm able to cut fabricate and weld anything so pretty much open to ideas. Anyone know of any bikes that be a good fit? Thanks in advance!

I had a couple VF750C Honda Magnas. Not to be confused with the V30, V45, or V65... Without a doubt, the fastest 750cc. You could pick up a decent one for 3K. They are low to start and with your skill you could make it even lower. They are also longer than many in that category and that provides a lot of options. Best part, you have a bike after that if bullet proof reliable and will eat up lots of asphalt.

Good luck. Lots of pics please!

Another vote for the Yamaha xs650. So many after market parts for them right now. The 1100's also look great ratted out.

https://www.demonscycle.com/frames-rollingchassis

This would make a nice project bike, complete rolling chassis for $2000us
I don't think the hot chick is included
Demons drive line packages are affordable and reliable too

Definitely my first choice if you want to build on the cheap is the Yamaha XS 650. They were basically just Japanese old school Triumphs. But way more reliable.

Just for kicks google pics. of Cafe Racers. They are similarly built in some ways. I did say some only ways. But reason i suggest it is it will maybe give you a bit more of a idea as to what to use, particularly if your looking to not use a Harley. They use darn near anything these days.

Yamaha XS650 or Honda CB750 or the like from the 70's if you want aftermarket bolt on stuff. Honda CX500'S are really starting to get more popular thanks to Wrenchmonkees ( Google them and CX500) and they can still be had cheap but they will need a bit more fab work as the aftermarket just isn't there the same way. I have a CX500 my dad both new in 1978 that I have done up (version 2.0 coming)

My kid brother builds choppers- Harleys mostly, but really likes to mess with the
650 Yammys when it comes to bobbers .
he lowers the frames , and basically makes them unrecognizable as a Yamaha except for the actual motor!
We're talking hand twisted sissy bars, triple trees, forward controls, hand built springers and tanks, etc.
They really look cool and are fun to ride!

Thanks for the directions in a bike. I've been looking out for something lately online but people seem to be wanting rediculous prices for a bike that's beaten down and doesn't run. I be keeping my eye out for one tho.

X2, on savage. Picked up a 88 for $300.00. Was liking the 650 single. See it turns out this summer.

An old sportster would make a decent price bobber project at a decent price and it's still a harley so you can ride it and not feel bad lol.
