I like Swarovski optics and , to date , have never been disappointed. Having said that I have not picked up the Companion model. I did read a review elsewhere by a well known Alaskan outfitter who used the 8X30 model last year and was very, very impressed with it and its performance. Pretty good reference

I think with all higher end optics it's important to handle and compare. Sometimes the fit and feel of one just works better than others.

My experience is that it's hard to go wrong with Swarovski

I really like the pair I bought. Nice and light and in comparing them to other binoculars I found them better than others in the price range, and not much different from ones costing double in low light. Bought mine from the Wildbird General Store in Edmonton.

I bought a pair three years ago. The only regret I had is not doing it many years ago.

Fantastic binos! Both me and my birdwatching wife have them.
