Default Tequila

Can't say I'm a huge fan of tequila, but gf brought back a bottle of this from Mexico last night, there's not enough O's in smooth to describe it.

Default Tequila Ceasar

If you havent already try a tequila ceasar Rob. I no longer keep vodka in the house.
I like them with clamato and all the spices but the pool bar in cuba last month made good ones with tomato juice so I guess technically they were tequila bloody mary with worchester and spices.

I love my Anjeo (sipping) tequila.... Hard to find many good ones in Canada. If anyone is ever in San Jose just up the coast from Cabo San Lucas, there is a little shop on Main Street called the Tequila Boutique. They once had over 300 brands/types of tequila. The owner was extremely knowledgeable, and they had a huge lazy susan with bottles for taste testing before you bought. A mid priced one I liked was Classe Azul, most recognized by the white bottle, hand painted blue with a large silver cap. Some of the older Esperanto was great too, but could push over $200usd for a 26.....

I don't often drink tequila, but I do keep a bottle of Hornitos Black Barrel around, really like the notes added by the Whisky casking....quite nice, and not too pricey.

Nowadays just the mention of tequila makes my stomach churn.
1974. We were 20 (my best pal and I).
One Friday night we sat down and over the course of 12 hours drank two 26's of tequila.
God's honest truth the next thing I remember it was Wednesday, we were in New Orleans in his MG that was full of empty beer bottles.
To this day I'm amazed we didn't die or were in jail.
That was the last time I was behind the wheel after drinking.
Which shows how much things have changed.
I remember about year previous. I was stopped about 1AM on Groat Rd...obviously impaired. The cop asked me where I lived(near Westmount, only a few blocks away... he told me to go straight home and drive carefully.
I was definitely over the limit.
Couse those were the days when my dad would park his pickup in front of the house with a .270 and a shotgun in the rifle rack in plain view.
My how times have changed.

I remember the young and dumb days.

Went to a bar in Newfoundland @ 18 years of age for a beer - had 5 more and decided to shoot a 26 of tequila with salt and lemon. Don't remember much about getting home, 40 minute drive in the back of a truck @ -30 and full blizzard. Friends didn't want me puking in the cab, but didn't seem to mind me freezing to death in the back.

That was probably the sickest I've ever been.

I like Tequila, but not the Canadian prices. They're bad enough to make a guy drink.

Ahh...those were the days.
Life now is pretty comfortable ...and I don't think today's youth know what they are missing with todays sanitized world.
I remember another 'excursion'...about 1979.
A buddy and I drove down to Reno on a whim in his VW Bug. Fried the engine in the dessert outside of Reno. He was ome of the best VW mechanics in Edmonton and I had my Heavy Duty ticket from R. Angus.
Do you know you can do VW engine swap in a back alley in the middle of the night in under an hour?
Still feel guilty about that one...some poor guy (or gal) woke up to fried engine the next morning.

Yeah... I married late. At 61 I have a 12 and a 15 year old.
On the one hand I cringe if they new what I did when I was young.
But part of me feels sorry for them...the world today is a whole different place than it was 50 years ago 😪
