Hey Nube, if you are getting tired of weasels, feel free to let them know that there is a friend waiting for them down south here!

Pan Triggers
Nube,
I used your idea from last year regarding using election signs to make pans for my traps. All 135 of my marten boxes this year have 160 belisle's with pan triggers made from plastic election signs. Wow...works like a charm! Unlike last year where numerous animals didn't want to push through the trigger wires to set off the trap, this year every animal that has approached my traps has become trapped. Gone are the days of seeing both tracks leading to and away from my marten boxes! Thanks so much for the idea and advice last year!

Thanks Phil
We'll I was lucky enough to get to tag along with Phil on his line for the last two days. What an amazing experience! Hooked for life. It was a very successfull check we manged three squirls, one flying squirl, 15 weasels, 14 maten,1 mink, and Phil's first two wolfs what a rush that was! Could not belive how many wolf tracks there were around hopefully Phil can knock a few more down. We set a cupel more wolf baits and got the first lynx baits baits of the year out. We didn't have a camera so pictures were far and few between but I'll get some one to post up a pic for me.
Thanks again Phil.

Congratulations. You're off to an amazing start. Wondering how long did you have the traps set before you caught all that fur? Incredible job.

Not sure exactly what day I last checked. Wolf snares were not out very long at all. Was surprised they got on the bait so fast to be honest.

Well I haven't been good at taking the camera this year. Got a couple pics today.
Checked the line and took most of the remaining marten boxes down. Caught 2 coyotes a lynx a marten and a bunch of squirrels and one rockin nice wolf.
Caught the lynx under one of my marten boxes. He keeps hanging around so I set a snare around the box and got him.

Have you tried the Deathblows from Dakota Line? Of the few different camlocks i've tried this year they are by FAR the best! No slip and haven't had any freezing issues yet.

Whats the difference between a toothed cam lock that I am using and the deathblows ? I don't really see how it is much different

I've tried 2 other toothed cam locks and for whatever reason they dont lock-up as good, design maybe, don't know. The deathblows are real heavy as well, nothing short of a rino is going to break one.

Thanks Bill. I do it for 2 reasons. I don't keep a written one and I think when I am older I will appreciate having it on here at least. Other reason is hopefully it sparks some interest in others to start trapping. I think that has helped a few already. I know when I was looking at posts from others on here and trapperman it got me fired up to buy a line

I just found this thread. Absolutely a walk down memory lane for me.
This one gets my vote for best thread ever.
Thanks everyone. I love the photos, it make it all come alive!
Good news too, maybe. I go for a lung biopsy tomorrow. The doc thinks they may be able to reverse some of the damage done by the misdiagnosis.
I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that this means I may be able to trap again some day. In the mean time, this thread is close to being there.
Thanks nube.
