Default Bridger 280

Was given 4 brand new traps. Was told they were for beaver. Just found the receipt in the bag, they are listed as Bridger 280 magnum. I don't see them listed by any animals as certified. What can they be used for?

Thanks

Default Don't think so

Bridger and BMI have separate listings in the regs. As far as I can tell because Otter killing traps listed are not yet mandatory it may be used as such until part 2 of the regulations come in to effect. In 2016

I just received the ATA magazine today and I happen to have it right here. On page 45 it lists the AIHTS certified traps for otter, Lynx/bobcat that are not yet mandatory. it says that Lynx will become mandatory in the Fall of 2015 (now) but otter not until the Fall of 2016. To me that sounds like they'd be okay to use for otter until next Fall.

This is only a Fur Institute of Canada submission to the ATA magazine but it might be something to confirm in the regs.

Default Why 220 but not 280

The 220 Bridger is certified for Lynx and raccoon but not the 280...
Damn you Bridger!
Oh well ,free is free. I will see if some otter are around this winter and at least get one year out of these traps.
