Default Suffield cow draw, now worth 2

Interesting to hear that the cow tags will now be a permit for 2 animals, that will be a lot of meat with 3 tags...FS

If that is the case, we will be attempting to pick out yearlings rather than mature cows.

Two Antlerless tags were expected to be issued with this licence. This was noted in the AGMAG proposed changes that including the addition of the antlered licences.

Enjoy the feast!

With the drought in this area, more tags issued the better... These elk are worse than ever this year, not looking good heading into fall with the lack of grass and most buying hay...

Yes, I'm kind of wondering also if there are any sites that you can go to and get any new info or new reg changes.

They should add an antlerless tag for those who were drawn for antlered.

I was drawn for the first season Cow Elk (Nov 4-7). I'm gonna assume that since there is space for two tags on purchase that this is indeed for 2 Elk.

This is a regular elk draw, and the only elk partner license listed in the regulations is the youth license.

Am I alone in thinking that rather than permitting one cow draw to harvest two cow elk they should have doubled the # of hunters that got drawn for one cow elk? I would have loved some suffield elk meat this year instead of one guy not knowing what to do with 2 cows...

There is a very good reason. Twice as many hunters means twice as many hunts, and it takes a lot of time and effort for the military to to host these hunts.

This part is quite clear. BUT: if someone can't make it to the hunt, which happens, both tags hang on Xmas tree...
