Question Lost my WIN # how do I find it?

Hey guys,

Been a tough 2 years. Had to move three times and had a lot of family issues (aging parents) to deal with so I missed applying for tags last year. In the moves, most of my hunting paperwork has been lost. Just got back from school and I can't find my WIN card and I want to apply for tags. There is nowhere on the new site that I can find to search for my old number. Any ideas as to how to relocate my old number? Clock is ticking.

Find an old license or tag, if you used the services of a butcher they are required to maintain records of the animals and hunters that come in....you might be able to have them look at their archives.

Other than that call the folks who administer the system.

I don't know if they can or not but I'm sure where you buy your WIN card and tags can do it with just a name and address/ID card.

Call the Help number on the WIN site, they can look up your Win Number. You will probably need to provide the old address that is still on your WIN account. RELM Help Desk at 1-888-944-5494 FREE for assistance.

They also have an email form you can fill in to look up your account.

Default Lost WIN

I moved out of the province for 12 years and when I went to buy my tags last year all I did was gave my new reinstated AB. drivers licence which was the same number I had 12 years ago and my old WIN came up.

The license sellers can look up your number if you give them your name.
Which makes me wonder: what's the point of the number if they can look you up by your name?

Nothing, Mr. Smith!?!

Data processes work way better when a numerical code is used to represent an individual user.
Just like your, drivers license number, your SIN number, your PAL number, your apprenticeship number, your bank account number, your employee number.

Default Thanks.

I'm looking forward to getting out this fall. With the price of meat in the stores, who can't afford to go hunting?
