Default Tanned pelt pricing...

We have a few tanned pelts that we may sell, so I checked online to get an idea of value, and was quite sad to see how low one can buy them for. Fur Harvesters sells a tanned badger for $65. U.S., for example. This is called display quality. With fur prices supposedly so good, how is this possible? Who would buy ours if they can get it el cheapo down there? Ours are suitable for mounting, though...how much difference does that make?

Default tanned pelts

If you want some idea of tanned pelt prices go to Halfords in Edmonton or get a catalogue. They have all the prices, a tanned black fox sells for $275,otter for $230, timber wolf for $1250 and Wolverine for $935.

I'd hate to see the badger that FHA is trying to sell tanned for $65, would probably look like... bad, yucky, ick. A badger isn't just a badger, there's good bad ugly and the...
Ya, bad, yucky, ick.

You know, a guy was just talking about finding something gross on his tree stand seat, on the hunting forum... I wonder if it was one of those tanned FHA badgers?

Gee, I totally forgot about Halford's...Thanks!
But their badger is only $95.00!
Their wolf prices are good, though.

I've had a look at Halford's tanned pelts. The pelts look okay but a lower quality that you'd want to send to auction. I wish that I was better at determining the quality of fur so I could be sure that I wasn't comparing apples to oranges. I have 2 tanned beaver pelts, a 2XXL and a 3XXXL, that I will probably sell and even at $100 each, it's still better for me to sell them tanned than to send them to auction.
