I took a lesson at Jim Bows today and Jim's mom, Linda, was actually the one instructing me. Can't say enough good things, she was great. I had no idea what I was going to get from this going in, but I left totally satisfied, confident and itching to shoot more.
Started off at 10 yards to get technique down. After a few tweaks my groups were very close and I was shooting center.
Then she says try shooting with both eyes open. "Ha! I'll try but I don't think I'll be able to do that" Sure enough...I didn't close my eye for the rest of the shoot.
After being pretty consistent at 10 yards, we move to 20 and she throws in another wrench into the mix. She puts a ~4" by 4" piece of paper out. "You're crazy if you think I can hit that" Sure enough a few rounds later Im hitting it. Couldn't help but laugh how much I was learning and how quickly the results were showing.
Sure nice knowing I was showing good enough form that she asked to take a video of me shooting to keep as an example, and it was cool to see what I look like shooting. It's comforting to know that I got taught the right way from the get-go rather than developing bad habits and having to sort that out later.
Big thumbs up to Linda and Jim Bows Archery!
